The Ottery Fly Fishing Club was formed in December 1914 the first full season being in 1915.

The Club has acquired a considerable number of fishing rights on the River Otter between Honiton and Tipton St. John in East Devon.

Fishing is principally for brown trout though there is now a small run of sea trout every year. Methods allowed are upstream dry fly and nymph by day with downstream fishing for sea trout allowed after dark.

The river is not stocked in order to encourage the growth of locally spawned trout
